Yeah...so had our first internal exam this morning. NOT what I was expecting! I thought an internal exam was more like a pap. NOT applying pressure to your cervix from the inside and applying pressure from the outside! Holy crap! But I guess now that I know what to expect, maybe it won't be so bad next week. Well...we found out that I am NOT dilated, my cervix has not started to soften and her head is still kinda high. BUT...I've also read that this can change quickly. So...I guess it's just a waiting game.
I was told on Tuesday that next Wednesday will be my last day at work. Not real happy about that but can't really do much about it. They say my position is no longer needed. Interesting since there is still plenty of work to be done. I've been able to work with a great group of people and really enjoyed what I was doing. It's kind of bittersweet, my contract ending. On one hand, I wish I could just keep working til Maddie decides to enter this world cuz of the income. But on the other hand, it will be nice to be able to kind of get stuff more ready and not have to try to schedule it around getting work done. I have my disability form printed out, just need to fill it out and then give it to the doc's office next week (along with a $5 processing fee...are you serious?). I'm not sure whether to go with filing for unemployment and then filing for disability, or to just go with filing for disability. Only get 6 weeks of disability, so gotta try to time it just right. There's also some kind of Paid Family Leave for an additional 6 weeks that you can get after your disability runs out. It's still only like half of what you were making when you were working, but it's better than nada!
The weather the past couple days has been GREAT!! It cooled off and it's been overcast. Yesterday, I didn't even have to open the house up. :)
Happy Thanksgiving From Boston!
